LOS ANGELES – Spectrum News 1 today announced the debut of “SoCal in 17,” a weekly podcast with anchor and “Inside the Issues” host Alex Cohen. Set to premiere on February 14, the former radio host returns to the airwaves to deliver her signature style of analysis and perspective on local news and key political topics through open, non-partisan discussions that are engaging and informative.
“As someone who consumes various podcasts during my daily commute, I saw a distinct need in the marketplace for a podcast that would keep listeners up to speed on Southern California news and politics, delivered in a fun and casual format,” said Cohen. “That’s exactly what we aim to do on ‘SoCal in 17,’ and I look forward to engaging with our viewers and listeners to deliver the stories that are important and unique to the community.”
“SoCal in 17” will be a weekly roundup of the news and stories that are shaping the Southern California landscape. In roughly 17 minutes per episode, Cohen will cover the top local issues of the week and include personal conversations with prominent California newsmakers and political figures. The debut episode will feature an intimate conversation with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on young love, his love of Angelenos, and the most romantic spots in Los Angeles.
“SoCal in 17” will be available for download on SpectrumNews1.com/SoCalin17 or any podcast app including, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, PocketCasts, or Google Play.
